This South Seattle All Grades Enrollment School Fair features school exhibits and enrollment information. Talk to school representatives and enrollment specialists. Attend a presentation and get your questions answered. Bilingual staff will be available to serve as interpreters and to answer questions.

School tours are beginning at Graham Hill Elementary for prospective families. We welcome all families interested in our innovative programs – in both contemporary teaching methods and Montessori, the most longstanding such program in the district! We also offer a very popular Montessori preschool combined with our Montessori kindergarten classes. Graham Hill also offers excellent on-site child care, Kids Company, with before- and after-school hours.

Kindergarten tours schedule:

Tuesdays 9:30 - 10:30 am

January 15, 22, 29, and February 5

Thursdays 1:00 - 2:00 pm

January 10, 17, 24, 31, and February 7

Soomaali translator on January 22 & January 29 tours.

Espanol translator on January 22 & February 5 tours.

Tieng Viet translator on January 24 & January 31 tours.

Plan to attend a Tuesday morning tour if you are interested in applying for the Montessori program.

Graham Hill recognized by state as a “School of Distinction”

Graham Hill Elementary Principal Chris Morningstar knows what works
for her students: Focused reading groups, after-school tutoring,
regular testing and community partnerships.

But the school’s success, she said, is largely due to the dedication
of the teachers and staff. “It’s a concerted effort,” she said. “We
just work hard.”

The Seward Park neighborhood school became one of the first in the
state to get a Learning Improvement Award and be recognized as
a “School of Distinction” by the state superintendent Wednesday.

To be selected, a school had to meet the 2007 targets on the
Washington Assessment of Student Learning in reading and math and be
able to show strong academic improvement over six years. This was the
first year the awards were presented, with 86 schools chosen from
among the nearly 2,500 in the state.

Graham Hill Elementary School is located in South Seattle, near Seward Park, just off of Rainier Ave S. We are an award winning, K-5 school, with a immensely popular Montessori program as well. We are one of only two Seattle Public Schools offering free preschool for children ages 3 to 4 years old.

Our school was renovated in 2004 and is equipped with a new library, on site before- and after-school childcare, and three different playgrounds.

We have a very active PTA and strive for 100% participation from our parents.
